CN Future Links

About CN Future Links

CN Future Links is Canada's national junior golf program conducted by the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA), the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association (CPGA) and Canada's provincial golf associations. The program is designed to forge a link between Canada's youth and golf to ensure the future of the game in Canada. Since its inception in 1996, more than 523,000 young Canadians have taken part in Future Links.

Additionally the CN Future Links Championships provide Canada's best junior golfers a chance to hone their competitive skills in multiple day championships in two age divisions: Junior (boys and girls aged 14-18 years) and Bantam (boys and girls aged 11 13 years). Over 3,000 top juniors have competed in these premier championships since their inception in 2000.

CN Future Links is Canada's national junior golf development program designed to "Ensure The Future Of Golf". Conducted by the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) in partnership with the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association (CPGA) and Canada's provincial golf associations, the program consists of multi-level instruction and rewards, clinics, camps, support materials and special programs to raise awareness of junior golf and address the issues of accessibility and affordability.

More than 523,400 boys and girls have participated in the program since its inception in 1996.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • Bring more kids into the game
  • Make golf more accessible to juniors
  • Make golf more affordable for junior golfers
  • Provide a more systematic approach to junior golf development
  • Provide more competitive venues for juniors
  • Generate more awareness and interest in junior golf
  • Foster more cooperation between golf's governing bodies

In 2006 more than 104,400 children participated in Future Links programs:

  • More than 26,500 kids participated in Clinics hosted by golf Clubs across Canada
  • Ten provinces delivered Mobile Clinic outreach programs for more than 49,200 children
  • A network of 109 Kids Clubs Connection Depots provided junior golf equipment.
  • Over 5,700 children participated in Golf Buddy events at 108 locations nation-wide
  • More than 33,000 children participated in Future Links school programs
  • 11,879 kids participated in Junior Skills Competitions
  • The Junior Order of Merit ranked Canadaís top 150 juniors
  • Six Junior Championships were conducted to give over 585 children the chance to compete at a high level of tournament play.
